Your mom is a photovoltaic module.

So here goes. Last I updated everybody through sunday? Its been a whole nother week!!! Holy cow!!! I can hardly remember what happened between then and now but thats mainly because I've done so much awesome stuff that I can't even process all that info!

So here we go, an attempt at my weekly recap:

Monday:
On monday there was school as usual. We bitched about the shenanigans from the weekend and then moved on. I don't really know what I did in the middle of the day, honestly it couldn't have been that amazing cause I don't remember it at all. BUT that night... We did some Trivia night! I'm excited to say we came in 4/5 BUT We also had best name. What was our team name? WELL one of the trivia questions was "what is a photovoltaic module?" the answer is Solar cell. So I had the clever idea of saying our team name should be "your mom is a photovoltaic module" and she loved that so we won 10E regardless. Pretty sweet. So we will go back this coming monday and try our luck again!

Tuesday:
All I could think about was HARRY POTTER. Seriously. I was actually sick that day. Couldn't hardly get out of bed. It was awful. So I slept through class (the first and hopefully only day I miss) and then met up with Emily. So we went to MariaHilferStrasse on the search for two things. The dept store where I found my Dirndl and an electronics store where we could find fans. Its pretty nasty out here when you can't enjoy central air in ANY BUILDING in this city. Seriously they don't believe in it or something. So we came across the Dirndl store, and then I tried on two to show E which dresses I was torn between. I ended up getting the cheaper one which ended up being 99E instead of 129. So I just saved myself 30E!! wooop! That was nice. I'm going to be wearing it to class one of these days but I want to do it on a day thats not so hot. Today was actually kind of cold but it was rainy and gross too. So thats no fun. My time will come. Afterwards we went and found the fan store. I dropped another 8 euro there and got my good nights sleep all settled. Then we went back to the Studentenheim (dorms) and I set up my fan and took a damn nap. I felt like death and I had a premier to go to that night. HARRY POTTER! So I wake up around 8. Get ready to go, meet our group in the lobby and head out. It was hella fun. We get to the theater and they have assigned seats (which is totally weird) and we got our tickets in advance so we were good to go. Nobody even checked our tickets, so I have two fully intact tickets from my HP Experience. All day that we were out I took pics of every single harry potter poster I found. I think I might have posted pictures of them as well... whatever though. The movie was way better than I could have hoped for. I honestly thought it would be utter crap since the others were. But as time went on the movies got better thankfully. Now when I get back to the states I get to re-read the entire series and I will be done with the obsessive Harry Potter part of my life. Ach so.

WEDNESDAY!
I somehow made it to class after a long night and getting home at 2:30 in the morning. Went through the motions there, and I really have no idea What I am doing in class right now. I somehow skate through, turn in some homework, and bumble through the rest of it. Who really knows if I'm learning anything at all! I feel like I've learned more chatting online with people who speak horrible english because it forces me to use german and I can use google translate for the words I don't know. I don't really remember much of wednesday. I'm gonna have to look back at my photos to get a recap... AH YES. That night I did laundry! By hand... in my sink... I'm seriously gonna get down in front of my washing machine when I get back to the states and pray to it. I will never take that machine for granted ever again! I think I took a nap on Wednesday but I'm not totally sure. Its kind of a blur. I got some gelato for sure though. That was a slow day that week.

Thursday:
So on thursday we had school as per usual, and then after school we had a "required" outing with our professor. I kind of skipped the one on tuesday because I felt like death, and I was semi protesting... But I went along on the one for Thursday cause it was looking like it was going to be pretty super fun/awesome. We ended up going to BEETHOVENS HOUSE! It was pretty fun. Afterwards we went to a restaurant that Beethoven frequented. The food was good so I can totally see why he went there all the time. After that we went to visit Schoenbrunn palace. It was quite beautiful. We were going to go in the mazes but they closed before we got there. We went back to the studentenheim and we were just kind of boring the rest of the night.

Okay I'll catch up from friday to monday night on the next blog-zilla :) TTYL peepers.

Ich liebe dich, aber...

SO... I actually had someone demand to know what happened on Saturday so after some long thinking Here was Sammstag in detail:

Saturday:
So after a night of drinking and having insane amounts of fun, I awoke at 7:30 to get my ass ready for a long educational/interesting day! I had high hopes and I must say about 75% of those hopes were met. Nothing ever goes exactly how you want it to but things can still work out for the best? That sentence makes no sense...

So at 8 my buddy comes in my room (I totally forgot to lock the door last night, drunkeness will do that to a person, also getting to talk to friends who are a huge distraction in your life can do that too) and says "HEY!!! YOU ARE A MINUTE LATE AND PROF IS WORRIED! He texted me that morning so I don't know why he was freaking out. We were on time to *almost* everything. I know my contempt is oozing all over my keyboard, but I'm trying very hard to write this exactly as it happened and not pollute my blog with opinions all over this posting... So once we all gathered in the lobby we went aus dem haus and to the U-Bahn station. Hop a train and then we go the wrong way on the next train. Leadership skills were kind of lacking but in defense it was 8am and a late night. I still had at least half of last nights alcohol pulsing through my system anyways. So we finally get to the OBB (train station) and then we got our tickets and I got a gatorade. It was time to start putting the electrolytes back into my body cause I didn't want to feel super shitty later. Haha, I should have drinken more than one. So 9AM rolls around and we get on the train. I had serious concerns about the train because I'm paranoid about getting on the wrong one. I was armed with my readyness to be thrown off the train and was being a negative nancy, or debbie downer whichever you prefer. But once the ticketmeister came through and didn't throw us off I had no more angst.

So we arrived in Melk after a nice nap and some laughs on the train. We get out and the city/town (whatever) was a really beautiful place. Gorgeous in fact! I loved every minute of it. Well, the only part I didn't love was that my prof said flippy floppies would be totally kosher, and then we had to walk up a giant hill. That part wasn't fun. My feet hurt. But the view and the tour of the Cloister Abbey was really really really beautiful. It was designed in the style of Baroque and since they were so broke back then, only 8lbs of gold was used in the entire Abbey. Things were made quite cheaply, but effectively. It was amazing. Breathtaking! We toured the whole thing and I even got to sit through about a minute of noon prayers. We got some amazing photos, and the main church was the most amazing thing I have seen. So many colors, so many breathtaking sights! I seriously can't even believe how awesome it was. I did get a little grumpy though when I was shooed out of Afternoon prayers to be ushered out and off to lunch, but I guess it was for the greater good. The lunch I ate was super delicious and I even snapped some pics of it! The walk down the hill wasn't the best walk, and nobody was giving us any information. We were trying to find a place to eat that was "reasonable" and at that point we just got frustrated because everybody was hungry, hot, sweaty, and grumpy. So when we finally got some little bit of info and we walked to a restaurant that was actually kinda expensive I didn't care what the price is, so I just grumped out and pulled a toddler and just said "I'm eating here, with you or without you."

So after we ate lunch there was a mini rush to the Boat. On my way to the boat you know what I did. I sang "I'm on a boat" by Lonely Island. I was able to entertain a few folks so it was totally worth it. I never thought I'd be on a boat... On a big blue watery road. But yeah, its all good. So we get to the ticket line, half our group already has tickets and then we find out "oh, scramble time! boat leaves in 10 minutes! get your shit and run!" Then we find out that we ran to go stand in a 20 minute line. How exciting. So all panic aside, we made it on the boat, and old people WILL trample you. Especially if you are young. So we get on the boat, and we see some castles, and fancy looking homes. Some naked people and speed boats. Just a normal day at the river I guess! Took more photos of all the lovely things. We arrive at destination. Destination: town of doom. I really don't know what the name of the place was. At that point I was tired and grumpy. I just wanted to get on the train out to Vienna. But whats that? its a 20 minute walk to the Bahnhof, and lookie there... 5 minutes til the next train leaves. I was stuck in this town for 2 hours too long. I was on the edge of reason, walked next to some child that was tooting her recorder at the highest possible pitch for 10 minutes straight... Then we are walking in the heat getting sweatier and nastier. We finally gather and decide on going to some place the professor wants to go to. So we clamber up a hill only to find out that the place is C-L-O-S-E-D. Someone said it was closed for the summer. At this point my eye was probably bulging out of my face. I was angry, my feet hurt, and then we still had to wait for the train. We ended up at some brau haus and we ate there which temporarily relieved me of my frustration and irritations. It kind of felt like it was a domino effect. One thing right after the other. At least there was the train ride back. That was actually really fun.

So when we left the brau haus (I had a fanta, I drank out of stress and it made me feel besser) I was on a mission. I led the group quickly and quietly to the train. Stayed at the front... I knew that if I fell to the middle of the group I would just start gaining that sensation of becoming Liam Neeson. So I just kept my mouth shut and trudged ahead with my trusty sidekick :) We started getting delirious from the tired-ocity and started laughing about all the stupid shit thats been happening. Why not? Gotta go and brush your shoulders off. So we get to the train station, and we wait. In the sun. With some inconsiderate smoker smoking all over us. Who cares... almost there. So, the train arrives and I happily grab a seat, and then the delirium really starts to set in.

So we are sitting there, and I'm gazing out the window and we are flying past a ton of crops. So I start naming them. CORN. CORN. SPINACH. SUNFLOWERS!!! and that would just repeat itself over and over again. I grew silent then the sunflowers started popping up a lot more often. I started singing to them. "Sunflowers you make meh so happeh!!" Serious delirium setting in. But all in all the giggles in the train made things seem a little bit better. Towards the end of our ride some dirty frenchmen got on the train. They were creeping on one of my classmates and I was watching them the whole time. So being me I started talking to them. "What are you doing?" he claimed he wanted to see what was in the next seat and that it was very nice. They said I was very nice too. not that I would give two shits what they thought. They conversed with me because apparently I was the leader. They said "what are you doing here?" and I was telling them  we were just travelling for a week, I was from california and that I was headed to germany next. Oh the lies that come spewing out of my mouth. I don't appreciate dirty frenchmen that creep on my buddies so obviously I am protecting all of us.  I wanted to tell them they needed to thank us for saving their smelly country from the Nazis, but I figured not starting an international incident would be the best policy.

After we got to our stop I sprung off the train and ran to the subway. We got off at our stop and went into our respective rooms. I decided to dump my photos onto the computer. Do everything like I normally do. oh, but wait... Something weird happened. The program froze. I check everything, and the scariest words come up that could possibly come up during a photo dump. PROGRAM NOT RESPONDING. I did everything I could. I even tried to recover my damaged data. They were gone. all 150 photos were just GONE. That was the icing on the cake. Thats where I really lost it and started crying. I will go through hell and back as long as I can take photos, but when my one souvenir gets taken from me, ripped from my hands... Thats it. I cracked. So now, I renounce my dell products and microsoft. I will sell them when I get back to the states and I will purchase a macbook. Sorry PC. That was the straw that broke the camels back. You just ruined my day. I could have said it was just a rollercoaster of emotions and ended on a high note, but no, you had to go and make sure my day turned to utter shit. Its time to upgrayedd.

But yes. A serious lack of knowing what the hell was going on was gnawing on me for a long time, but the loss of my precious photos was about the last thing I could handle. I can't deal with that. Hell to the naw. Talking to my friends back home did seriously help me put my head back on straight, and one even managed to make me laugh. But now all I can do is steal photos from other peoples albums. and post them like they were mine...

Das ist alles.

America, Fuck yeah!

I must apologize for leaving you all in the dust in my last blog. A lot has happened since the last update. Like July 4th!!! I didn't really tell you about it yet so here are the low down and dirty details :D

Monday:
So on the 4th was my first day of Class here in Wein. It was pretty easy, and I was a little exhausted from straining to understand the teacher. She only spoke german to us. No other language.  Ugh. What a day! Anywho... We went out and bought tickets for Harry Potter 7.1 and 7.2 Double feature. I'm so terribly excited its going to kill me. The 12th is almost here. Seriously. I get to see it before AMERICA!! yayay~! SOOOO on America day I rounded up all the Americans in the Studentenheim and we all went out to a bar to celebrate! Well the original bar I chose was total crap so we just went down the street to the Austrailian bar we went to the night before because it was literally just half a block away. TURNS OUT it was trivia night. We all know how much I love trivia right? I fucking love it. I love trivia more than Hitler wanted  a master race. Seriously I love it. I'm filled with useless knowledge. Well today it wasn't so useless! All in all we came in second place. We lost by half a fucking point. Luckily we lost to an American team. I would not stand for some Austrian to win my money. It was a 2Euro buy in and we get a free shot at the end of the game. Half a point... seriously!?!?!? The question that totally fucked us? "of the original 13 colonies, which was the first to abolish slavery?" Do you know? Its Pennsylvania. We put Massachusetts. Curse you Amish land! We still won 20 Euro that we have every intention to invest into next Monday. Like hell I'm not gonna go back and throw down some serious trivia action. I'm gonna win. Whats the winning pot like? Well America day it was at about 1500 euro. Thats some serious dough. That would have sent me sky diving... That would have bought me an extra nice Dirndyl.Oh well. No more focusing on the could haves, now to focus on winning this coming monday to lay some serious smack down. Our team name was "America, Fuck yeah!" and we almost saved the day.

Tuesday:
I honestly can't remember what happened on tuesday. We went to class, and did some stuff. After class we went to Mariahilferstrasse. It was crazy there. I only had an hour to find a pillow, cause these pillows in our rooms are about the worst things I've ever slept on since the history of ever. The bed is comfy but has ZERO support from the pillow. We walked around and found some police to ask where to go. The police force out here (Polizei) are super yummy looking. For serious. Found a pillow shop and I dropped 20 Euro on a foam neck pillow. That night I had my way with that pillow. I made it my bitch and I slept sooooooo good. But after I made my purchase we went to the museum of Wein. Or more commonly referred to as Wein Museum. The bottom floor was mostly about Medieval Wein and the only super cool thing I saw were these death masks/helmets and sheilds. They were pretty badass. Other than that its nothing I havent seen before in other museums. THEN on the second floor right when you walk in there is this striking painting done of one of the Kaiserin. It was magnanimous. I seriously stared at that painting for over 20 minutes. There was a whole floor of other stuff to see but THAT was the one thing that amazed me. The insane detail, the shadows and light, the amazing dress and lifelike quality of the woman in the painting. Then there was the creepy painting of her kid up above her. Creepy baby photo I like to call it...  I was captivated by it like if you stare at Vigo too long or something. Might become possessed by a demonic painting and try to take over the city of New York. I think that was a different situation though... Afterwards everybody split up and did their own thing. I ended up going with a few out to a Vegan pub. That was an adventure in itself. I don't mind drinking there but like hell if I'm ever gonna eat there again. It tasted okay but the post traumatic event that followed was unpleasant to say the least. I had a few beers with the homies and peaced out.

Wednesday:
Started my day with some coffee and a muffin from starbucks. Total cost? 7 euro. Thats about 12 dollars. for a fucking frapp and muffin. WTF mate... Everything is about the same cost here, but the dollar to euro ratio kind of sucks. Went to class and then about 30 minutes before it was over, that Vegan food saught its horrid revenge. I was able to stay strong during the whole way home, but oh was I in pain. I walked slow, had this mutant look on my face like I was going to die (it sure felt like it). I'm just gonna say... garlic farts. It was like the scene from alien when the alien was coming out of the guys stomach. After that it was all kosher and I felt great. I even went out to somewhere with some folks. A few broke off to go to a strip club and wound up paying 16 Euro for two beers. Which beer? Corona. What a rip off. The rest of us just chilled out and had pizza, and walked around. It was an early night. Good night too. Some weird guy in the lobby complimented my eyeshadow that night. He said "I like your eyeshadow, its very elegant." First thing that jumped to mind "is he gay or something?" No man has ever said anything about my makeup before. Let alone thats the first thing someone says to me upon meeting them. I told him would even say anything like that. Seriously weird. But thanks. Weirdo.

Thursday:
Another day another Euro... Went to school in the morning and then kind of just chilled out a bit. I don't really remember doing much around town and I didn't go out that night. We did stop by the bunni+casino in the subway station. It was very unimpressive. After school we went on a walking tour of the ringstrasse stuff in the museum district. It was very educational and informative. We ended up seeing Motzart statue, and Goethe statue, and took some pics with my homeboy Freud. We were everywhere that day. After that we were all so exhausted that we went back to the studentenheim and I watched a movie with my PIC and slept through most of Sex and the City. I woke up at my favorite part though so its all good. After that I got to chat with some folks back in the good ol USA and stayed up til 2AM here. Which rolled into friday.

Friday: TGIF. School was kind of dumb easy today and we had a sub. Moseyed around and then friday night happened. It was such a fuper sun time. We went to the "Bermuda triangle" and "got lost" but in reality we knew where we were the whole time. The bars, the nightlife, the scene... totally for me. I had a blast there. I even drank beer. As of jetzt I have three more weeks and I plan on exploring the nightlife as well as the daytime. That night we drank a ton, got schnappfaced and had a blast. We ran into a batchelor party at one point and then we had drunk pizza. I may or may not have stolen a mug from a bar. I mean, I'm not totally sure how that giant mug ended up in my purse but its mine now ;) We got home by 3 and I went to bed at 4 and then I woke up at 7:30 the next morning for one of the most awesome places/stressfull days I've had thus far.

Saturday gets its own blog. I have to let things simmer before I write a scathing review.

Sunday: So I woke up at noon. I slept A LOT. Then I went out to hopefully buy my Dirndl but that was a wash. Can't buy anything except food on Sundays. What is with this city?! Don't you want my money?!?!?! Oh well. So we got some noodles and I went into the Catacombs under Stephansdom. It was very cool down there. Both interesting and temperature. That was my favorite part because there is no such thing as AC out here. nobody uses it. Just pop a window open and move along. Its hot and sweaty every day. But yeah. There were signs that say no photography, and the guide said no photography... but does that ever stop me? No, it just impairs the quality of my photos. It was really dark so the ones you see on FB will be blurry and I will have to explain each blur to you.

BUT NOW WE ARE CAUGHT UP!!!! HUZZAH! Except for the good the bad and the ugly that happened on saturday.

Auf Wiedersehen!

NO TICKET.

So, since I last updated I left you all in drunk euro land. WELL, it just gets better after that! So after a day of calmness I was pretty much exhausted for the last few days. I went to a few places! On Saturday I went to a town called Zeltweg. Its three hours away from Vienna which meant I had to get on the train. I was kind of rudely awoken at 4AM and I couldn't get back to sleep so I wondered... What can a person do at 4AM? I know... I will get on the internet. So I updated some things, chatted with some people, and then it struck me. Remember that commercial I saw for the redbull airpower11?! YES?! Hah! I will do that! So I went and packed a bag of clothes, and started walking to the train station by 5:30. I figured out how to buy my ticket, and I even figured out how to get onto the proper train! That shit ain't easy. Seriously. The train station is just a huge cluster fuck of confusion. At least for an ignorant foreigner like myself. So after getting on the wrong platform twice, I get to the right one. I get on the wrong train, get off at the next stop, get on the right train, and sit in first class by mistake. I swore that I would have an indiana Jones moment when the ticket guy was coming through. I half expected him to throw me off the train and turn to the crowd and say "NO TICKET" while everybody else frantically scrambles for their own ticket. Luckily I was just in the wrong class. He told me where I needed to change trains in German, but I didn't quite hear the stop properly. So he says it again in german but a little slower and a louder... Then I ask him "English?" and he says really slowly and very loudly "YOU NEED TO CHANGE TRAINS IN BLAHBLAHBLAH." I still have no clue what stop it was. It started with a B. So I accepted this terrible fright and set off to find a seat in second class. It was good to play a dumb american cause apparently they fine you for sitting in the wrong section.

So I make my way down the train and see people hanging out in the hallways, and all the little compartments are packed... I move onto the next section and next section until I finally hit the end of the train. As I give up and turn around I saw an empty seat where nobody put their feet. I signal to the guy next to it and point at myself and point at the seat and got the thumbs up to take it. So I'm sitting in a 6 seater booth the only girl and 5 other guys. I was a little intimidated. Not that I couldn't handle myself, but just the fact that they all knew where they were going and I was kind of clueless. So we get to a stop and a few get off and I ask "Was ist dieser platz?" which probably makes no sense and someone told me what train it was, which doesn't help me at all... and then I turn to the guy in the corner and ask him "ich gehe zu zelt weg, uuugh... english? okay, where do i change trains?!" and he luckily spoke perfect english. Then I instantly gained a new friend and we headed off for an adventure together!

So the whole POWERAIR11 was actually pretty ballin. I saw some amazing tricks and things that I would have never seen in the USA. Yeah the blue angels are pretty bad ass but they are kind of restricted. The Saudi Arabians really did it, and the Breitling group too. Seriously baller.

okay this is gonna be a break in the story. Will be continued.

Adventures in drunk euro land...

Last night kind of just blew me away as far as the club and bar scenes go. Seriously. I wish I brought more club clothes with me! Oh well. So yesterday the day was kind of long because I didn't really sleep much at all. So we went out to the shop that I saw the dresses at, and lo and behold... I was shut down by the shop lady. She really didn't want to put me in a dress because my boobs were too big. It was the exact same size as the one I tried on (and it fit) at the stupid expensive store, but she said my boobs were just too big. Which is both a good thing and bad thing if you think about it. Just give me 6 months. By January I'll be a whole new person :)

Anyways, so let me explain the latest and greatest adventure. Last night I get on the subway system by myself. Not really knowing exactly where to go. A nice austrian girl spoke some english to me and got me on the right track. So as I traveled through the tunnels of Vienna there was something that struck me as quite odd. The gross number of "underage" kids that were drunk. Out here the legal age is 16 or so, but you can really start drinking at 14. But there were obnoxious drunk kids running around a lot. When I finally arrived at mein platz I met up with my friend (who I've officially known for about 2 days now), and we went to a club called Loco. They were not messing around with that name either. They mean it when they say loco. The clubs play the exact same music at the clubs back home so it was really nice to go there and feel like I haven't missed a beat. The beats were droppin hard too. So we were all singing and dancing and drinking along to the american music. They know how to make long island ice teas here so that was also very nice. I drank two of those before midnight. Don't forget... I got there at 11. So when midnight finally rolls around they have some raffle. In this raffle they give you a free bottle of Vodka. Our group won about three bottles total... It was kind of curious though... The DJ was a boyfriend of one of the girls in our group. Coincidence? I think not.

So we start drinking vodka and redbull. I really hate redbull, but would you say no to a free bottle of booze? HELL NO. My cup floweth forth. I was a good steady level of drunk last night. Not TOO drunk because I was smart enough to pace myself once the liquor started flowing freely. But the Austrians are all quite nice. Some were a little too friendly though. Grabbing my ass while I spoke with them... I even got some phone numbers too. Rule number one of safe girl code: Take numbers, don't give it away! I don't even know my number to begin with so its all good :) Right when I got off the subway DJ Joe wanted to buy me a coffee and take me to his club where he was playing that night. How friendly. I took his number and promised I would text him later. Probably just lied to a nice man. He was black too! I found the only black man in Vienna last night. I even saw him again later that night once we left club loco and were wandering around a bit.

The bouncers actually bounce here too. I saw a guy get choked out pretty much. There was some kind of fight in the bathroom at loco and there was blood everywhere. An ambulance showed up but nobody was dragged away or anything like that. It was cool to see that kind of thing but it makes me wonder how frequently that happens. With all the drunk kids running around I would guess fairly often...

I'm a little bit hungover so I will have to finish this later. I need to wash my face and hair with ice cold water now so I can go meet up with some more Americans. Our numbers are growing!
